World Breastfeeding Week 2026 Observed at Edavaka Grama Panchayat
World Breastfeeding Week 2026 was observed at the Edavaka Grama Panchayat Hall from August 1 to August 7, 2026, under the Mananthavady Admission Project.
The programme aimed to create greater public awareness about the relevance, importance, and benefits of breastfeeding and to promote the practice among mothers and the general public.
The function was presided over by Thottathil Vinod, Welfare Standing Committee Chairman, and inaugurated by Girija Sudhakaran, President, Edavaka Grama Panchayat.
Musthafa Thayyullathil, Vice President, other Standing Committee Chairpersons, Ward Members, Anju Krishna, CDPO, Edavaka, and Anganwadi Teachers and Supervisors from Edavaka, Thondernadu, and Vellamunda Grama Panchayats participated in the programme.
The programme highlighted the importance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of mothers and children and emphasized the need to strengthen public awareness regarding proper breastfeeding practices.
