🏥 Hospital Management Committee (HMC)

A committee constituted for the efficient management and development of hospitals

Hospital Management Committees are constituted in hospitals under the control of Panchayats for all systems of treatment, in accordance with Section 173A of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 and the Kerala Panchayat Raj (Management Committees for Public Health Institutions) Rules, 2010. The term of the HMC ends along with the term of the Panchayat. Whenever vacancies arise, the Panchayat shall nominate new members to fill the vacancies. HMCs are empowered to take decisions regarding the development and administrative management of hospitals. The committee shall meet once every three months and maintain accounts and records of income and expenditure. The accounts are subject to audit by the State Audit Department.

2 Member of Legislative Assembly from the concerned area
3 One representative each from the national political parties
4 One representative each from political parties that are not national parties but have representation in the Legislative Assembly

6 Kudumbashree CDS Chairperson of the area where the hospital is located
