‘CARE’ Project Introduced to Wayanad District Collector
The “CARE – Community and Readiness in Edavaka” project being implemented by Edavaka Grama Panchayat to effectively address the challenges arising from the Southwest Monsoon was introduced to Wayanad District Collector Smt. D.R. Meghashree.
Girija Sudhakaran, President, Edavaka Grama Panchayat, Jilson Thooppumkara, District Panchayat Member, Musthafa Thayyullathil, Vice President, Shanavas A.K., RRT Coordinator, and Praveen Rajagiri met the District Collector and presented the details of the project.
The CARE project was conceived based on the experiences gained from the village visits conducted under the leadership of the Panchayat Governing Committee in areas identified as potentially vulnerable to floods and other monsoon-related disasters.
The initiative aims to strengthen community preparedness, coordination, and timely response to effectively manage monsoon-related emergencies within the Panchayat area.
